Program Manager – Position Description

Sisters Code is looking for a Program Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a one-year hybrid (possibly remote) part-time contract with the opportunity to renew.

Sisters Code empowers Metro-Detroit food-based, mobility, and technology startups by offering resources and education to help them explore, start, and grow.  We also “Awaken the Mature Geek,” by empowering women ages 25-85 to explore the world of coding and technology. 

 OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

The Program Manager is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and implementing program related activities and works with leadership to ensure that grant-funded projects are properly implemented and managed. The ideal team member will be detail oriented, organized, and possess the ability to handle a multitude of tasks supporting project management, data management, and administrative functions.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with program development, planning and execution
  • Manage the grant making process, including preparing grant reports and maintaining records
  • Track grant-funded activities, data, and budgets
  • Monitor compliance with grant requirements and regulations
  • Work with leadership to develop and implement strategies for successful grant-funded projects
  • Maintain awareness of corresponding budgets and adhere to organizational processes
  • Maintain data management and reporting as needed
  • Assist with program curriculum development
  • Represent the organization at local events and networking opportunities
  • Assist with grant writing as needed
  • Coordinate activities for meetings, events, and special projects
  • Utilize technology to complete tasks
  • Receive, review and respond to internal and external correspondence
  • Participate in strategy development and support execution
  • Support organizational fundraising efforts
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funders, program staff, and other stakeholders
  • Research possible grant opportunities
  • Other duties as required

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3-years of experience in grant and project  management
  • Knowledge of grant regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong technical skills – Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn new platforms as needed
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to details
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with external stakeholders, clients, partners, and team members
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
  • Highly resourceful team member, wth the ability to also be extremely effective independently
  • Able and willing to occasionally assist with weekend and evening events and/or programs
  • Experience with a CRM is preferred
